Last 14 May 2016, almost a hundred of environmental stewards from all over Metro Manila have grooved their way to ZUMBAligiran, which was held at the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) Manila.
Ms. Jaydelyn Reise De Vera, country representative of One Baby, One Tree, officially opened the program with her inspiring words encouraging everyone to be advocates and stewards for the environment.
Meanwhile, rising Zumba stars Cha and Sam enthusiastically led the Zumba proper, from 9 to 11 in the morning. Participants were seen all smiles as they dance to the nonstop songs.
Ms. Kathereen Jane Sapungen, Mr. Prince Philip Nagpala II and Mr. Roy Joseph Roberto, hosts of the event, interviewed the participants and they all agreed that Zumbaligiran was a success and that they have looked forward to the coming of the event. Raffle and special prizes from the event partners were also given away to the early bird, first event registrant, and most energetic participant.
Mr. Sandy Jan Labarosa, country representative of ASEAN Green Power and Ms. De Vera ended the event with so much gratitude to the participants and volunteers. They also discussed issues on climate change, which posed a challenge among the participants to continuously act as stewards for and of the environment.
The event was made possible by One Baby, One Tree and ASEAN Green Power, in partnership with LPU-COSel, Zalora, and Tony and Jackey Philippines.
All proceeds of the activity will be used for tree planting, putting up a school vertical garden (“School Trash Gardening”) and distribution of health kits to our kababayans in Brgy. Batongbuhay,Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro, Philippines happening on 06-08 June 2016.
